Transplant Nephrology Fellowship

About the Program

The Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Program began in 2015, and trains one fellow every academic year.

The program aims to train applicants who have successfully completed or expected to complete a two-year Nephrology fellowship (from an ACGME accredited program prior to beginning their transplant nephrology fellowship) in the art of Transplant Medicine and thereby become eligible for a Certificate in Transplant Nephrology.

The goal is to provide competency in the comprehensive management of potential kidney donors, kidney and kidney-pancreas transplant recipients. Fellows will develop advanced skills in diagnosis, decision-making, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuity of care across the perioperative, acute post-transplant, and long-term care of patients. Fellows will also develop longitudinal skills in prevention, surveillance, and optimization of allograft function.
