NEUROENDOCRINE ONCOLOGIST

The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation are seeking a fellowship-trained BC/BE Neuroendocrine Oncologist. The successful candidate will lead and/or contribute to a robust translational state-wide research program in neuroendocrine oncology with established laboratory and clinical collaborators. This position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor to either the tenure or clinical track (non-tenure track), depending on qualifications and experience. Appointment to the rank of Instructor (non-track) may also be considered.


The Carver College of Medicine is part of a major research university and ranks 19th among public universities in NIH research funding. The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center that collaborates closely with the College and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A particular strength of the program is a growing portfolio of investigator-initiated and phase I trials including many based-on research being conducted in University of Iowa laboratories. The hospital is one of the largest university-owned teaching hospitals in the United States and is adjacent to the Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.


The Division of Hematology-Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation has a broad mission, spanning benign and malignant hematology and solid tumor oncology. Division faculty lead more than 200 active clinical research trials at any given time for a wide range of cancers and blood disorders and operate Iowa’s only FACT-accredited bone marrow transplant unit. The division provides services at University of Iowa Health Care, the Iowa City VA Medical Center, and at several regional outreach sites in southeast Iowa.

The University of Iowa Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting a full-time electrophysiologist at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor on the tenure or clinical (non-tenure) track, depending on qualifications. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.


The candidate will work at UIHC, IRL and outreach locations and may have some clinical effort at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. The candidate will have outpatient clinic and inpatient consult duties, perform procedures in the EP labs, and cover a share of night and weekend EP on-call responsibilities.

ASSOCIATE HOSPITAL EPIDEMIOLOGIST

The University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking an ABIM board-eligible or board-certified Infectious Diseases physician at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Professor commensurate with experience. The successful applicant is expected to serve as an Associate Hospital Epidemiologist at University of Iowa Healthcare.


This position is 60 percent administrative with the Program of Hospital Epidemiology. The other component is constituted by 40 percent effort attending on the Infectious Diseases Consult services.  There is no expectation for external funding. The other members of the Program of Hospital Epidemiology include 9 infection preventionists, an industrial hygienist, a hospital epidemiologist, and a halftime pediatric hospital epidemiologist. The opportunities to collaborate in research are ample due to a very strong team as well as other University of Iowa affiliated epidemiologists, several of whom are experienced investigators with externally funded research programs. There are also opportunities to work with trainees at all levels, including medical students, ID/hospital epidemiology fellows and MPH or PhD candidates from the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
