The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is committed to medical excellence in the care of patients, the education of students, and the pursuit of clinical and basic research. The tradition of advancing the realm of medical knowledge and services is forefront. We are proud of the leadership and prominence of our faculty. The diversity in our faculty's areas of expertise spans the fields of molecular cardiology to integrative physiology to the patient based disciplines of interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, electrocardiography, heart failure/transplant and imaging. We look forward to continuing to serve, teach and discover the medicine of cardiovascular diseases as we enter the new millennium.

Kumar receives CFF pilot grant

Santosh Kumar, PhD, assistant professor in Cardiovascular Medicine, was awarded a two-year, $110,000 pilot grant from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) to research endothelial function in relation to the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene.
