Welcome

The mission of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at the University of Iowa is to provide an academically and clinically rigorous training program in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular research. The aims of the program are to provide the trainee with the basic and clinical knowledge, procedural skills, clinical judgment, professionalism and interpersonal skills, and abilities necessary to continue to hone these skills through the course of a long career, as required of a leader in the field of Interventional Cardiology.

The curriculum is designed to provide a broad clinical exposure in all aspects of interventional cardiology and related cardiac care occurring in the inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as extensive experience in invasive cardiac procedures

Why the University of Iowa for your Interventional Cardiology Fellowship?

The University of Iowa provides a broad and balanced experience in both coronary and structural interventional procedures in a one-year interventional fellowship program.

Coronary procedures run the gamut of modern complex, high-risk procedures, including left main PCI, bifurcation PCI techniques, use of atherectomy devices, intracoronary imaging, and supported PCI, including ECPR.

Fellows also gain extensive exposure to structural heart procedures, enabling subsequent pursuit of advanced fellowships or direct adoption of a number of these specialized procedures into practice without requiring an additional fellowship year.
