Research Infrastructure
Fellows have access to a wide range of research resources that support projects from conception through publication. Depending on the project, fellows routinely utilize:
- Institutional EP procedural and device databases
- Epic electronic health record data
- National administrative and clinical databases
- TriNetX federated research network
- Multicenter collaborations
- REDCap for prospective database development
- Dedicated statistical support and biostatistical consultation
- The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS)
This infrastructure allows fellows to pursue projects ranging from single-center procedural outcomes studies to large multicenter and national database analyses.
Monthly Research Meetings
Research mentorship is structured and longitudinal throughout fellowship. Fellows meet with electrophysiology faculty during dedicated monthly research meetings to review ongoing projects, discuss new study ideas, troubleshoot barriers, and establish timelines for abstract submission and manuscript preparation.
These meetings provide regular accountability while allowing fellows to receive individualized mentorship in:
- Study design
- Database development
- Statistical analysis
- Scientific writing
- Journal selection
- Responding to peer review
- Career development
The collaborative environment encourages fellows to work with faculty, cardiovascular disease fellows, residents, medical students, and multidisciplinary investigators, often leading to multiple simultaneous projects throughout fellowship.

Presenting at National Meetings
Fellows are strongly encouraged and supported to present their work at major national and international scientific meetings, including:
- Heart Rhythm Society (HRS)
- American College of Cardiology (ACC)
- American Heart Association (AHA)
- European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA)
Institutional support is provided for fellows presenting accepted abstracts. All fellows are given the opportunity to attend HRS regardless of abstract presentation.
