- Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Training Program was formed in 1995
- The training program is a two year program
- Busy with 3 dedicated EP labs and 1 procedure room for Loops and Cardioversions
- 8 faculty, 6 of them board certified electrophysiologists

- Weekly case discussions and improvement conferences
- University of Iowa Health Care has a tradition of medical excellence with facilities for clinical and research training
- Minimum procedure numbers established by the ABIM are easily met the duration of the training program

Patient Care
Rotations
UI Main Campus
- Fellows will spend about 9 months at the main campus, in their weekly clinics and scrubbing in the lab with our 7-core teaching faculty.
- Fellows will rotate through an advanced EP consult service; this service is paired with a CVD fellow and an EP faculty as a way to continue to advance your skills in consultative EP.
VA Hospital
- Fellows will spend 3 months over the duration of the year at the VA hospital. During this rotation you will perform procedures, attend a weekly clinic and perform research.
Call
- Between the 4 fellows (if applicable, the AIRE 2+2 Fellow) the call will be divided into a 4 (or 5) week rotation.
Niche Procedures
Alcohol ablation- VOM, summit PVCs, VT substrate modification
Advanced tools for lead extraction- penumbra, angiovac, lithotripsy
